Remote Online Notary Services — Notarize Documents Securely from Anywhere

Need your documents notarized without leaving home? Hazelnut Notary Services offers certified remote online notarization (RON) — a fully legal, secure way to notarize documents via live video session from any phone, tablet, or computer. Available to clients across all 50 states, seven days a week.

What is remote online notarization?

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is when a signer appears before a certified notary public using live audio-video technology over the internet, rather than being physically present in the same room. The process is fully legal, court-recognized, and carries the same legal weight as an in-person notarization. Instead of driving across town or coordinating schedules around office hours, you connect with Robyn Hazeltine — your certified notary — from wherever you are, on a device you already own.

RON uses Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) — a series of identity verification questions drawn from public records — along with a credential scan of your government-issued ID to confirm your identity before the session begins. The entire notarization is recorded and stored by the platform, creating a tamper-evident electronic audit trail that protects all parties.

How remote online notarization works - step by step

Book online using the Calendly link below. Choose from 1–3 documents, 4–10 documents, or 11+ documents. Same-day and next-day slots are available Monday through Friday 9am–9pm and weekends 12pm–9pm Arizona time.

1

Schedule your appointment

Email your unsigned documents to Robyn@HazelnutNotary.com ahead of your session. Documents are uploaded securely to the RON platform — do not sign them beforehand. Robyn will prepare everything before your appointment time.

2

Send your documents

Complete identity verification (KBA)

3

At the start of your session you will answer a short series of Knowledge-Based Authentication questions — drawn from public records — and scan your government-issued photo ID. This step confirms your identity and meets the legal requirements for remote notarization. You must pass KBA to proceed; please ensure your ID is valid and unexpired.

Connect with Robyn via the secure audio-video platform on your phone, tablet, or computer. No special software download is required — just a stable internet connection and a working camera and microphone. Robyn will walk you through every page that requires a signature or initials.

4

Join the live video session

Sign electronically

You and Robyn both sign the documents electronically during the live session. Robyn then applies her official electronic notary seal and digital certificate. The entire session is recorded by the platform as required by law.

5

Receive your completed documents

6

Your fully notarized, tamper-evident documents are locked and delivered to you by email immediately after the session ends — no waiting, no printing, no driving. The electronic record is legally admissible and accepted by courts, financial institutions, and government agencies.

Available in all 50 States and U.S. Citizens Abroad

As an Arizona-commissioned notary public authorized for remote online notarization, Hazelnut Notary Services can notarize documents for use nationwide. Whether you are in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or any other state, you can book a remote notarization session and receive fully executed documents the same day.

U.S. citizens living or traveling abroad can also use our remote online notarization service. If you are a U.S. citizen currently located in another country and need documents notarized for use in the United States — such as powers of attorney, real estate documents, financial agreements, or legal affidavits — you can connect with Robyn from anywhere in the world with a stable internet connection. No embassy visit, no international notary hunt. Just book your appointment, email your documents, and join the secure video session from wherever you are.

Important note for international signers: While Hazelnut Notary can notarize documents for U.S. citizens located abroad, the receiving institution in the U.S. — such as a county recorder, lender, or court — determines whether electronically notarized documents are accepted. Documents intended for use in a foreign country may require an apostille rather than, or in addition to, notarization. Contact us before booking and we will help confirm the right approach for your situation.

 FAQs

  • Yes. Remote Online Notarization is legally recognized in most U.S. states and carries the same legal weight as an in-person notarization. Laws vary by state, and some document types or receiving institutions may have specific requirements. We will confirm whether RON is accepted for your particular document before your session begins.

  • You need a phone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, a valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license or passport), and your document(s) ready to email. No special software is required.

  • Identity is verified through Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) — a series of questions drawn from public records — combined with a scan of your government-issued photo ID. This multi-factor process meets or exceeds the security standards of traditional in-person notarization. Please note that refunds are not issued if a signer cannot be authenticated through KBA.

  • Many real estate transactions — including refinances, deeds, HELOCs, and reverse mortgages — can be completed via RON. Acceptance depends on the lender, title company, and county recording office. We recommend confirming with your lender before booking. Robyn is a Notary2Pro certified loan signing agent experienced with real estate document packages.

  • Accepted forms of ID include a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state identification card, military ID, or passport. Expired identification is not accepted under any circumstances.

  • Payment in full is due 30 minutes prior to your appointment time. This holds your session and allows Robyn to prepare your documents in advance. An invoice link will be emailed upon booking.
